Trevor Jones is recovering from a heart attack sustained on 7th April and there was a small number of positive responses to the suggested reunion, so it is not going to take place this year. More news to follow.
The following email has been sent to the Men for whom the Development Office has contact details including email addresses. It is reproduced here for the benefit of those who have not received it.
Proposed Men of Kinnessburn Reunion Weekend: 30 June – 1 July 2018
Dear Men of Kinnessburn
I have consulted with webmaster John Stepney about an idea for a reunion to be held on the weekend of 30 June/1July 2018. John has agreed that I may approach you on this matter. 2018 marks the fiftieth year since I and others first matriculated, which seems to me worthy of marking in some way.
At the moment, a reunion programme has not been worked out. My ideas for a reunion programme include the following:
General Council Meeting on the morning of 30 June, followed by lunch in Lower College Hall, courtesy of the After Many Days Club
Visits to the Bell Pettigrew Museum and Byre Theatre
St Salvator’s Chapel Service on Sunday followed by Pier Walk
Isle of May visit (weather permitting) on 1 July, followed by Fish Tea at Anstruther’s famous Fish & Chip Shop
Visits to The Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther, St Monans Windmill, East Neuk Open Studios and Kellie Castle (National Trust for Scotland) visits are other ideas.
Please comment on my ideas and feel free to contribute ideas of your own.
If you would be interested in taking part in such a reunion, please register your interest here or you can write to me at:
8 Shore Road
The closing date for expressions of interest is 1 May, so early responses are requested. I will reply to all who contact me and look forward to hearing from you.
